PANAJI: Nitish Belurkar clinched the top spot at the all-Goa open blitz online chess tournament organised by Kreeda Bharati Goa in association with Ponda Taluka Chess Association (PTCA). Reuben Colaco finished second while Devesh Naik was third.
A record number of entries of 165 participants made the field very competitive and also reflected good joint-organising skills by Kreeda Bharati and PTCA.
As many players were participating for the first time in an online tournament, experienced chess coach Wilson Cruz had conducted training sessions before the tournament started. Digital certificates were issued for the participants.
Kreeda Bharati Goa secretary Anu Modak thanked all members of Kreeda Bharati and PTCA for putting together a successful event.
