PANAJI: Goa’s Adarsh Chunekar, Avelino Fernandes and Pearl Colvalcar clinched gold medal in their respective categories at the Open Navy Windsurfing Championships 2021 at Chicalim. Dayne Coelho and Keona Rajani remained in the hunt, but lost ground to their rivals as they struggled on Day 3, according to a press communique by Goa Yachting Association.

In the RS:X Olympic category, Dayne struggled to maintain his top spot overall as Ebad Ali of Army Yachting Node defied all odds to take the gun in two races of the day and finished second behind Dayne in the third race. With just 3 races to go on the last day, Dayne is only 4 points clear of Ebad Ali and will have to fight it out till the last race.

Adarsh meanwhile bagged gold in the Raceboard category by taking the gun in all 3 races of the day. Avelino  and Pearl also secured their gold medals in the Techno 293 OD in the boys and girls category respectively by winning all 3 races of the day.

Keona maintained her overall first place but struggled to repeat her performance of the first 2 days in the RS:One Women Asian Games category. The final day is poised for an exciting finish with demo sessions on Kitesurfing and Windsurfing Foil.
