PANAJI: Goa’s young coaches and state table tennis players, Rutuj Sonawane and Selvyn Godinho, have secured certification from Sports Authority of India’s National Institute of Sports (NIS), Patiala.
According to a Goa Table Tennis Association press communique, Rutuj and Selvyn attended and successfully completed the 6-week NIS certificate courses held in Bhubaneswar with ‘Grade A’. Rutuj topped the batch with 75.3 per cent and Selvyn secured a high score of 71 per cent.
Rutuj, a former junior champion, is among Goa’s top players in men’s section. Selvyn, a former state-ranked player, who has attended various SGFI Nationals is a regular coach at Don Bosco Oratory, Panaji.
