Nitin Pai, co-founder and director of the Bengaluru-based, Takshashila Institution and author of the recently-released book, ‘Nitopadesha’ will be speaking at the International Centre Goa (ICG) on Saturday, October 14 at 10.30 am. Pai will be discussing his book with Dr Pushkar, director, ICG. The entry is free and open to the public.
‘Nitopadesha’ is a collection of stories which offer lessons on good citizenship and citizen-craft. The stories cover themes such as the meaning of citizenship, the ethical dilemmas one faces as a citizen and how one can deal with social issues. The book includes a foreword by chairman of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India – Bibek Debroy, who recently translated the unabridged version of the Mahabharata into English in 10 volumes.
The Takshashila Institution, where Pai is co-founder and director is an independent centre for research and education in public policy. Pai’s present research includes the geopolitics of the Indo-Pacific; defence economics and the politics of radically networked societies. He teaches international relations and public policy at Takshashila’s graduate programmes. Pai is a frequent contributor to national newspapers and was a policymaker in the technology sector for the government of Singapore for over a decade.
