Tamil Nadu’s Nomaan Pappu and Andhra Pradesh’s top seed Asha Sree Dandu were crowned Boys and Girls Singles champions respectively, on an action-packed final day of the Yonex-Sunrise All India Sub Junior (U-13) Ranking Badminton Tournament 2025 at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium in Navelim, Goa. Nomaan displayed poise and power to defeat Haryana’s Shlok Chowdhury Roy 21-16, 21-19 in the Boys final, while Asha Sree survived a stiff challenge from Maharashtra’s Kyra Raina before prevailing 21-17, 16-21, 21-19 in a pulsating Girls Singles summit clash.

In Boys Doubles, the formidable duo of Shivesh Gupta (Uttar Pradesh) and Jashwanth Mahamkali (Andhra Pradesh) overcame a spirited fight from Maharashtra’s Pratham Vishal Raut and Gujarat’s Vivaan Shah to clinch the title with a 21-17, 21-17 win. For Jashwanth, it was a fitting redemption after his singles semi-final exit earlier in the tournament. In Girls Doubles, Telangana’s Srivaibhavi Anumula and Anya Proddatur put up a composed performance to defeat Tamil Nadu’s Nithiksha Jeganathan and Aaditri Kannan 21-17, 21-17 and lift the title.

“The opportunity to host prestigious national ranking tournaments like this is part of Goa Badminton Association’s vision to provide exposure to local talent and raise the competitive bar in the state,” said Manoj Patil, President of the Goa Badminton Association. The week-long event, held under the aegis of the Badminton Association of India and the Sports Authority of Goa, saw India’s top under-13 talent compete fiercely, leaving fans and officials impressed with the quality and promise on display.
