Odisha FC head coach Clifford Miranda is delighted with the performance of his boys in the 3-1 playoff win against Gokulam Kerala FC, which took The Kalinga Warriors into continental competition for the first time.
The Goan tactician, who was appointed head coach of Odisha FC in March this year only till the end of the season, has delivered historic results in a very short time.
“When I joined, I implemented my playing style with a promise that I will take them forward in terms of development of each player. I am very happy for the players, for the club and for the management as they believed in me,” beamed Clifford on phone after the victory in the AFC Cup playoff match at EMS Corporation Stadium in Kozhikode.
The former FC Goa assistant coach further praised the players for rising to the occasion, saying: ” It was very important that we didn’t drop our intensity specially after winning the final (Super Cup) as it is very easy to get carried away. But the boys realised the importance of the Asian opportunity and I am very happy for them. “
