Political Science students at Goa University participated in an enriching session organised by the Pinnacle Discussion Club, focusing on the insightful work Ajeeb Goa’s Gajab Politics by author and journalist Sandesh Prabhudesai. The event highlighted the critical socio-political issues shaping Goa’s landscape.
The discussion commenced with an opening address from Dr. Prakash Desai, Programme Director of the Political Science Programme at Goa University, followed by remarks from Pinnacle Founder Ramrai Naik, Assistant Professor at V.M. Salgaocar College of Law and an alumnus of the university’s MA Political Science Programme. Naik shared the evolution of the Pinnacle Discussion Club, highlighting its commitment to intellectual engagement among students.
Prof. Rahul Tripathi introduced Prabhudesai, appreciating his significant contributions to documenting Goa’s unique political narratives through journalism and literature. Each presentation provided unique perspectives, sparking meaningful dialogue and drawing praise from Prabhudessai, who commended the students’ analytical depth. He shared insights into Goa’s land history, emphasised the role of youth in democratic engagement, and responded to questions emphasising critical thinking in the electoral process. The event also witnessed participation from Dr. Parag Porobo and founding members of the Pinnacle Club, established in 2018, including Shailesh Tanpure, Norman Fernandes, Aniket Kanolkar, Abhinay Naik, Devan Parab, and Ketan Ghatwal.
