Goa University, under the central government programme PM-USHA, has upgraded its campus with a School of Physical and Applied Sciences’ building, inaugurated today by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant.
Research Laboratories for Analytical Chemistry and Biochemistry; and a Futsal Court were also inaugurated. The various initiatives amount to Rs. 8.5 Crore under the PM-USHA programme.
“It is heartening to note that Goa is among the first states in India to achieve effective fund utilisation under PM-USHA initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under the scheme, support of ₹105 crore from the Government of India is approved which will further strengthen infrastructure development. With these initiatives, Goa University is well-positioned to emerge as a futuristic centre of excellence in the years ahead,” asserted the Chief Minister.
