The prestigious event, organised by Ponda Badminton Club and Margao Shuttlers Club in collaboration with the Goa Badminton Association and the Sports Authority of Goa, showcased exceptional talent and competitive spirit among Goa’s best young shuttlers.
In an electrifying Boys Singles U11 final, Michael Mare displayed finesse and power to defeat Pratik Borkar 15-8, 15-7, while Amaira Dhumatker asserted her domination in the Girls Singles U11 by overcoming Kanika Pai Vernekar 15-10, 15-5. The Boys Doubles U11 was a nail-biter, with Pratik Borkar and Varun Sahakari staging a remarkable comeback to edge out Ayansh Sanke and Krithik Reddy Sripathi 8-15, 15-11, 15-13. Amaira Dhumatker, along with partner Ashbah Tahasildar, continued her winning streak by triumphing over Aditi Dhargalkar and Komal Kothari 15-11, 15-11 in the Girls Doubles U11.
In the Boys Singles U13, Mohammed Umar outplayed Michael Mare with a convincing 21-13, 21-13 victory. Avni Khyalia secured the Girls Singles U13 title by defeating Niharika Parwar 21-17, 21-15. Mohammed Umar and Viraditya Pai Kane claimed the Boys Doubles U13 crown, overcoming Samarth Sakhalkar and Vishwa Parab 21-10, 21-11. Avni Khyalia, paired with Palak Ramnathkar, triumphed in the Girls Doubles U13, defeating Astha Poudel and Pragya Audi 21-16, 24-22.
Advait Balakrishnan displayed exceptional skill to claim the Boys Singles U17 title, defeating talented Sanquelim shuttler Soham Naik 21-14, 21-19. Ritika Chelluri’s determination was on full display as she triumphed over Aarohi Coutoncar 21-16, 21-14 in the Girls Singles U17. The Boys Doubles U17 final was a gripping contest, with Rutav Kanabar and Shaheen C K edging out Aarush Pawaskar and Soham Naik 21-16, 14-21, 21-16. Shivanjali Thite and Sufiya Shaikh dominated the Girls Doubles U17, securing a commanding victory over Isha Borkar and Jewel Abranches 21-5, 21-12. In the Mixed Doubles U17, Shaheen C K and Sufiya Shaikh showcased remarkable teamwork to defeat Advait Balakrishnan and Ritika Chelluri in a thrilling 21-19, 15-21, 21-18 match.
The closing function was graced by GBA Secretary Praveen Shenoy, EC Members Naveed Tahsildar, Anushka Kuvelkar and Vinayak Kamat, and organizing officials Akshay Prabhu, Pranav Kulkarni, Sudin Kuvelkar among others.
