PANAJI: Multi-talented sportsman Reagan Pinto is back in the state table tennis fold after being part of Goa’s cricket set-up over the last decade. The 29-year-old has made his way back into Goa table tennis team for the UTT 82nd Senior National Table Tennis Championships to be held from  February 15 to 23 at Punchkula, Haryana.

Goa men’s team will be represented by Dheeraj Rai, Manish Yadav, Reagan Pinto, Diljeet Velingkar and Vedant Kulkarni while the women’s team will  comprise Aditi Chodankar and Kefira Rodrigues.

Reagan had turned to cricket after having established himself as a dominant force in Goan table tennis, over a decade ago. Thereafter, he proved his class first as an emerging leg-spinner not just in Goa but even being considered as a bright prospect in the South Zone. He then made his bat do the talking and played a few high-quality innings particularly when Rajesh Kamath was the coach of Goa Ranji Cricket Team. Reagan subsequently struggled to deliver and lost his place in the state Ranji side.

Reagan’s First Class career spans 31 matches 1400 runs at an average of 32.55 with three hundreds and seven fifties to his credit.
