Rosary College of Commerce and Arts, Navelim, defeated St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, 4-0 to win the Inter-collegiate Football Championship for Women 2022–23, organised by Goa University at University Ground, Taleigao Plateau.
Rosary College started with an attacking intent and dominated play in the first half, having more ball possession. The first goal came from Aniela Barreto in the 41st minute. In the second half, Rosary College, with a strong attacking approach and sensible play – scored three more goals. Jossela Mascarenhas, Joyri Fernandes, and Clency Miranda respectively scored in the 47th, 53rd, and 83rd minutes.
Satyawan Talwadkar, Deputy Registrar-Finance, Goa University; Collin Vaz, Member, Goa Football Development Council; Fr. Antonio Salema, Administrator, St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, and Milind Shivolkar, Assistant Registrar-Finance, Goa University, graced the valedictory function and presented medals and trophies to the finalists.
