RUN ON SUNDAY: GOA SET FOR RG MARATHON CHAMPIONSHIP 2022

PANAJI: RG Hospital, Goa, is set to organise the second edition of their marathon championship, under the theme ‘A Conscious Effort To Create Awareness Towards Healthy Living’ on Sunday, 25th September 2022 at Goa University ground, Near Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, Taleigao.

The team of RG Hospitals aims to create awareness amongst people on the need for prioritising good health and focus more towards fitness as the world nears the end of the pandemic hurdle.

RG Hospital Goa, made an announcement about the Marathon Championship 2022 during a press briefing, here today. The dignitaries present at the press conference were, Dr. Anjum Mahabari, Head RG Hospitals & Organiser, Paresh Kamat, General Secretary, Goa Athletic Association; Shripad Kundaikar, Technical Committee & Examination Chairman, Goa Athletic Association; Chetan Kavlekar, Dy. Technical Official, Goa Athletic Association; Dr. Marzook, Sr. Consultant Microbiology, RG hospital, Dr. Vardhan Bobhe, Sr. Consultant, General & Laparoscopic Surgery, Dr. Sachin Nandkumar, Physician Internal Medicine.

Over 4000 people are expected to participate in the event from different parts of the city and even from neighbouring states like Maharashtra, Karnataka. The Run consists of three categories – 5km, 10km and 21km; and will start from Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium and end at the same point.

Briefing the press Dr. Marzook, Dr. Vardhan & Dr. Anjum from RG Hospitals & organisers, said: ” We are all excited to witness the second edition of the RG Marathon Championship 2022. We were extremely happy to see the response last year from people across the state and are certain to witness participants in large numbers this year as well.”

Being a pioneer in emphasising a healthy population, RG Hospital recognises running as a great workout for physical as well as mental health while they age and remain fit. This marathon provides an open opportunity for all to ignite energies in action, participation and celebration of good health.

The event will be graced by the Chief Minister of Goa Dr. Pramod Sawant, would be led by the ultra-fit actor and supermodel Milind Soman; states a press release.
