Sonics Basketball Club stamped its authority with a clean sweep across all categories at the ASMITA Khelo India Women’s 3×3 Basketball League (North Goa leg) held at Youth Hostel, Miramar. Dominating the U-14 Girls, U-18 Girls, and Women’s categories, Sonics showcased depth, skill, and consistency to emerge as the standout performers of the tournament.
In the U-14 Girls section, Sonics (Alya, Samaira Godinho, Ganriella and Zeva) defeated St Mary’s Mapusa (Ima Fernandes, Ancila Fernandes and Adelina D’Souza).
In the U-18 category, Sonics (Kim D’Souza, Keiya Fernandes, Enaira Fernandes and Lisa Fernandes) overcame Jades (Laxmi Kewat, Pratigya Gupta, Aloysia Lobo and Varalika). The Women’s title also went to Sonics, represented by Kim D’Souza, Keiya Fernandes, Enaira Fernandes and Radya, who got the better of Jades (Sarah Hussain, Gabriella, Alya and Samaira Godinho).
The closing function was graced by GBA Vice-President Sandeep Heble, State Coach Andriel Fernandes, and Sports Promoter Amey Joshi. The event formed part of the ASMITA (Achieving Sports Milestone by Inspiring Women Through Action) initiative under the Khelo India programme, aimed at promoting women’s participation in sports at the grassroots level.
