The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Regional Office, Goa, has successfully concluded its special Employees’ Enrolment Campaign (EEC-2026), bringing 2,220 employees from 205 establishments across the State under the Social Security act.
The campaign, which concluded on October 31, 2026, aimed to extend social security benefits to more workers and encourage employers to voluntarily declare employees who had not been enrolled earlier. It covered eligible employees engaged between April 1, 2009, and March 31, 2026.
As part of the campaign, EPFO provided special relief to employers to encourage wider participation. Employers were allowed to declare eligible employees without paying the employee’s share of contribution for past periods where it had not been deducted from their salaries. Penal damages under Section 14B were also reduced to a nominal lump sum of ₹100 per establishment, covering all schemes.
Employers who declared employees or registered afresh under the campaign were also eligible to avail benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY), subject to the scheme’s eligibility conditions.
With the successful completion of EEC-2026, 2,220 more workers in Goa have come under the social security coverage of EPFO. They will now be entitled to benefits such as Provident Fund savings, pension under the Employees’ Pension Scheme and insurance coverage under the Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme as applicable.
The initiative marks an important step towards extending social security protection to more workers in Goa and ensuring greater financial security for employees and their families.
