Defending Champions St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, won the women’s title while Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, bagged the men’s event at Goa University’s Basketball Championship 2023-24 at Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim.
In the closely-contested men’s final, Don Bosco College of Engineering beat St. Xavier’s College 49-46. In the women’s final, St. Xavier’s College defeated Don Bosco College, Panjim, 42-26.
Earlier in the women’s semi-finals, Don Bosco College, Panjim, beat S.S. Dempo College of Commerce and Economics, Cujira, 23-14. St. Xavier’s College trounced V. M. Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar, 31-2.
In the men’s semi-finals, Don Bosco College of Engineering Fatorda defeated Goa Medical College Bambolim 52-29. St. Xavier’s College got the better of S. S. Dempo College 50-40.
Best Player (Men) prize was awarded to Aaryan Raut of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda; while Best Player (Women) award was bagged by Sejal Kudnekar of St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa.
