Fulrani Kinalekar, person with locomotor disability and a resident of Korgaon, was provided with prosthetic limbs by the Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities with the help of Rotary Club of Porvorim and Rotary Club of Mapusa Elite; stated a press release.
Kinalekar expressed her gratitude to Guruprasad Pawaskar, the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities. “I had to face many difficulties before being provided with artificial legs. Now I am leading an independent life with the new prosthesis,” she said.
Guruprasad Pawaskar had been in constant contact with Kinalekar for the past three months to procure prosthetic limbs for her. Kinalekar participated in the fashion show organised during the Purple Fest using prosthetic limbs provided by the State Commission for Persons with Disabilities, receiving many accolades from the audience.
Since the last year, the State Commission for Persons with Disabilities has taken the initiative of providing prosthetics limbs to the needy persons with disabilities so that even the people with disabilities can live independently.
