‘SUR SANGAM’ MARKS 9 DECADES OF AKASHVANI’S  BROADCASTING LEGACY

Akashvani Panaji celebrated the landmark occasion of Akashvani@90 with a colourful cultural evening, ‘Sur Sangam,’ at the heritage venue of Maquinez Palace Auditorium in Panaji today. The event brought together artists, music lovers, and cultural enthusiasts in a fitting tribute to nine decades of public broadcasting.
The programme featured a rich blend of performances that highlighted Goa’s diverse artistic heritage.

Renowned vocalist Dr. Pravin Gaonkar enthralled the audience with a captivating Hindustani classical recital, while members of Chhatrapati Kala evam Sanskritik Mandal, Mashel, showcased the traditional Goan folk dance Fugdi, earning warm appreciation from attendees.

Adding a contemporary touch to the celebrations, Adrian Siqueira and associates from Rai Salcete presented a lively Western music segment along with a special performance titled “Kantara.”

Speaking on the occasion, officials of Akashvani Panaji expressed gratitude to artists and audiences for their support and participation. The evening celebrated not only the legacy of Akashvani but also its enduring role in promoting culture, music, and community engagement across generations. Sandeep Srivastava, Deputy Director General, Prasar Bharati, Panaji, Goa, welcomed the artists and the dignitaries.
