PANAJI: Siddhant Parsekar, Pradnya Caro and Chandan Caro emerged successful at the inaugural all-Goa (open) non-ranking table tennis tournament organised by Rotary Club of Ponda in collaboration with Arihant Sports Academy.
Siddhant defeated Darren Duarte 11-6, 11-7, 9-11, 11-9 to win the cadet boys competition. Pradnya beat Riya Gopi 11-1, 11-7, 11-9 to clinch cadet girls event while Chandan reigned supreme in the mini-cadet boys category with a 12-10, 11-8, 11-8 victory in the final against Dhruva Kamat.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Ranjit Sadekar, President, Rotary Club of Ponda. Dr Santosh Tilve, Secretary, Rotary Club of Ponda, Bhaskar Khandeparkar , Chairman, Goa Vidhyaprasarak Mandal, Vishnu Kolwalkar, Vice President ,GoaTable Tennis Association, Jaywant H., President, Arihant Sports Academy, Shyam Keni, Ex-Secretary, GTTA, were also present. Secretary of Arihant Sports Academy, Anu Modak welcomed the guests. Trophies and certificates were awarded to the winners.
