TAMIL NADU REIGN SUPREME AT 69TH NATIONAL SCHOOL GAMES BEACH VOLLEYBALL, BRONZE MEDAL FOR GOA GIRLS

Tamil Nadu were crowned champions at the 69th National School Games Beach Volleyball Championship for U-17 boys and girls organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs in collaboration with School Games Federation of India at Miramar Beach. West Bengal emerged runnersup while hosts Goa clinched the Bronze medal.

Tamil Nadu girls came back strongly after losing first set as they got the better of West Bengal 19-21, 21-15, 15-10 in the title clash. TN boys, however, romped to a comfortable 21-12, 21-17 victory over Telangana to complete a grand double title.

Goa girls beat Gujarat 21-16, 21-12 to bag the bronze medal, which eluded the boys team as they went down 13-21, 12-21 to the same opponents.

Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar graced the prize distribution ceremony along with former volleyball player and now the MLA of Mandrem Jeet Arolkar, among others.
