PANAJI: Wicketkeeper-batsman Eknath Kerkar has asserted that ‘Team Goa’ are full of confidence ahead of the BCCI’s Vijay Hazare Trophy one-dayers competition.

After their morale-boosting display in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 competition in Indore where Goa won three matches while losing two – including narrow six-run loss to hosts MP – the state team under the leadership of Amit Verma now find themselves in Elite Group A pitted against the likes of Baroda, Gujarat, Hyderabad among others with the matches to be held in Surat.

Kerkar, who joined Goa from Mumbai before the start of the 2020-21 season, believes Goa will do well in the upcoming tournament. “The team is full of confidence and we are all playing as a team. We are focussed on doing well at Vijay Hazare Trophy,” the hard-hitting 27-year-old Goan-origin batsman told GCA’s YouTube channel.
