ULHAS JEWELLERS BPS MAJOR RANKING TT: ISHITA COLASO BAGS TRIPLE CROWN; AARON FARIAS STUNS WESLEY DO ROSARIO IN MEN’S FINAL

Aaron Farias and Ishita Colaso stole the limelight at the Ulhas Jewellers – BPS Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2026 at the Multipurpose Stadium, Fatorda. Ishita completed a memorable triple crown by defeating Aarna Lotlikar 3-0 (Girls U-15), Neeza Kamat 3-2 (Girls U-19) and Urvi Surlakar 3-0 (Women’s).

Aaron produced the upset of the tournament, rallying from 1-3 down to beat former National Games gold medallist Wesley Do Rosario 4-3 in the Men’s final after earlier edging Chandan Caro 4-3 in the semi-finals and 3-2 in the Boys U-19 final.

Wesley is renowned for victories over Commonwealth Games gold medallist Sanil Shetty, former World Junior No. 1 Manav Thakkar, and several of India’s top-ranked paddlers, making Aaron’s triumph one of the biggest highlights of the tournament.

Chandan Caro won the Boys U-15 title with a 3-2 victory over Ruhaan Shaikh, Yug Prabhu defeated Yuvaan Sanke 3-2 to lift the Boys U-13 crown, Tisha Shaikh beat Sachi Dessai 3-0 in the Girls U-13 final, Ashank Dalvi overcame Aarish Shaikh 3-0 in the Boys U-11 final and Shaurya Dessai edged Anaya Shukla 3-2 to claim the Girls U-11 title.

In the other finals, Ronan Menezes Gama defeated Urvansh Pathak 3-2 to win the Boys U-9 title, Claire George beat Spruha Kamat 3-0 in the Girls U-9 final, while the tournament concluded with exciting matches and prizes across various age groups.

Earlier, Chandan defeated Yug Prabhu 3-1 in the Boys U-15 semis and Prathyush Shettigar 3-1 in the Boys U-19 semis. Ishita overcame Tisha Shaikh 3-1 in the Girls U-15 semi-finals and Sanisha Sinha 3-1 in the Girls U-19 semifinals.

In other semifinal matches, Yug Prabhu beat Mission Lalpekhlua 3-1 and Yuvaan Sanke defeated Kaushik Nair 3-1 to set up the Boys U-13 final. Ruhaan Shaikh downed Dhruva Kamat 3-0 to enter the Boys U-15 final, while Aaron Farias got the better of Vedant Wagle 3-1 in the Boys U-19 semifinals. Sachi Dessai defeated Vanlalrinzualli 3-0 and Tisha Shaikh overcame Inara D’Souza 3-0 in the Girls U-13 semifinals, while Aarna Lotlikar beat Sachi Dessai 3-0 and Neeza Kamat outplayed Tisha Shaikh 3-0 to reach the Girls U-15 and Girls U-19 finals respectively.

Meanwhile, the Men’s singles quarterfinals saw Wesley Do Rosario defeat Yug Prabhu 4-1, Atharv Dhulapkar edge Diljeet Velingkar 4-3, Chandan Caro overcome Rishan Shaikh 4-2 and Aaron Farias outclass Dhruva Kamat 4-0.
