‘Yeh Nadi Kuch Keh Rahi Hai…’ a dramatised reading and poetry session by Dhaaee Aakhar, Goa, concluded the month-long event, ‘We The Rivers of Goa’ held at Sadhana Dell ‘Arte, Merces.

This event brought out the stories and poems about rivers and made us realise how our lives are also like rivers—full of stories, events, U-turns, new diversions, etc. These emotions were beautifully expressed through two short stories—‘Nadi’ in Hindi by writer Hrishikesh Sulabh, which was narrated by poet Salil Chaturvedi and Monika Kshatriya. This was then followed by a Konkani short story by Dr. Prakash Parienkar titled ‘Vithaichi Nhai ’, narrated by Ramita Gurav and Mamata Verlekar.

The evening also saw a poetry recital by Niyati Patre, Asavari Gurav, and Salil Chaturvedi. These poems reflected the current state of our rivers, from the Mandovi to the Yamuna.

This thought-provoking event made the audience realise how we can connect to our rivers and forests, through stories and thus take these stories forward just like rivers.
