Director of ICAR-CCARI, Goa, Dr. Parveen Kumar inaugurated the two-day National Conference on ‘Mangroves for Climate Change Mitigation & Sustainability of the Coastal Populace’ (NCMCS 2024) on the occasion of World Mangrove Day, at Ponda today.
The function was organised by Department of Botany of P. E. S’s Ravi Naik College of Arts & Science in association with Mangrove Society of India, Department of Environment & Climate Change, Government of Goa, Goa State Biodiversity Board, and Goa State Pollution Control Board.
Eminent resource persons from Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai and Goa delivered the lectures and shared their expertise. The aim of the conference is to create awareness about mangroves and associated research. Secretary of Ponda Education Society, Ritesh Naik was also present.
