PANAJI: South Goan cycling club Xaxti Riders is now focussed on boosting the competitive cycling culture in the state with the launch of its racing team   – Xaxti Racing.

Born-talented but unable to match the elites in the expensive sport of cycling, youngsters from villages will now get expert training as well as other support so that these energetic cyclists from humble background can represent Goa at the nationals, asserts Xaxti Riders president Sameer Nadkarni when asked about the reason to launch the racing team.

“Four years back in 2017 when we started Xaxti Riders,  we had two objectives in mind which are also mentioned in our club constitution. One was to promote cycling in Goa particularly in South Goa by motivating as many people as possible to take up cycling to stay fit and healthy  and  the second was to promote  cycle-racing culture in South Goa so as to give a platform to our young boys and girls to participate at the National level. We achieved our first objective of getting maximum people on the saddle within a year of inception and Xaxti Riders has been growing since then year on year. With respect to second objective regarding competitive cycling, I can proudly say that our dream has become a reality  now with the launch of our own racing team   – Xaxti Racing, a  team made of young boys from Margao and surrounding villages of South Goa. We hope this will motivate  more youngsters to join cycling in the competitive format of this sport,” explained Nadkarni while speaking to livenewsgoa.com.

Meanwhile, the Xaxti Racing kit is a vibrant statement with the colour of passion red combined with the most luminous colour in the spectrum yellow while a dash of Xaxti blue with Goa emblazoned on it adds the punch.
