PANAJI: Following up the historic Olympiad gold-medal team performance, India notched up another successful display in online chess when the women’s team emerged champions at the Asian Nations Cup on Sunday. Goa’s star and International Master Bhakti Kulkarni was a member of this team captained by WGM Mary Ann Gomes.
Top-seeded India cruised to a 6-2 victory over Indonesia in the final, adding cheer to the Dussehra festivities in the country. Margao-based Bhakti expressed her delight and gratitude while speaking to ‘Live News Goa’ digital news channel.
