GTA: HYBRID IT PARK, PROMOTING GOA AS TECH EVENT DESTINATION, PROJECTS ALLOTMENT TO GOA-BASED IT COMPANIES AMONG PRE-BUDGET RECOMMENDATIONS TO CHIEF MINISTER

Goa Technology Association president Milind Anvekar and vice-president Sujeet Shetty met Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant with their recommendations in view of the Goa Budget 2023-24. Among their major suggestions, are ‘Hybrid IT Park and startup village, promoting Goa as an Technology Event Destination, and project work allotment to Goa-based IT companies and startups’, states a press release.

The 10-point suggestions and recommendations includes: frequent cutting of Internet cables by the Electricity Department, improved mobile connectivity, hybrid IT Park and startup village, promoting Goa as an Technology Event Destination,  IT and Startup policy related improvements including process simplification and quick disbursements, easy loans for startups instead of seed money, project work allotment to Goa based IT companies and startups, introduction of new age technology courses at Engineering and under-graduate level for better employment opportunities and data security audit to avoid data crimes.

Meanwhile, GTA will organise an international IT conference and Investor Meet this year. A Travel Technology Conference is also planned besides the annual IT and Startup Awards.

“Dr. Sawant was most supportive and discussed each point in detail. The CM has assured support in organising of the events,” added the press note.
