CINEPHILE FILM CLUB: ‘THE SEPTEMBER SISTERS’ CELEBRATES LATA MANGESHKAR & ASHA BHOSLE

Cinephile Film Club presents ‘The September Sisters’, a special programme on late Lata Mangeshkar, Bharat Ratna; and Asha Bhosle, two of the greatest cultural icons of the country, who share their birthdays in September.  

The programme, which will be held on 7th September at Maquinez Palace at 5.45pm, will be an audio-visual discussion with the most knowledgeable music aficionados in the country who will talk about background stories, anecdotes, and trivia of iconic songs.

Pavan Jha is one of the foremost authorities on music in India, he contributes regularly to national dailies and was also associated with the BBC for film music.

Archisman Mozumder is an avid music listener with a soft corner for Indian film and classical music, among other genres.

Dr. Chandrashekhar Rao is a passionate music buff and over the years, he has interviewed greats like Pt. Ravi Shankar,  and both, Lata and Asha, among several others.

Kushal Gopalka is a musicologist, historian, and archivist, who has written extensively, made documentaries and curated exhibitions, on Indian music.

The programme will be moderated by film critic Sachin Chatte and it promises to be an evening of unparalleled nostalgia and knowledge, states a press release.
