Minister for TCP and Urban Development, Vishwajit Rane expressed a feeling of pride after Panaji and Sanquelim bagged ‘Swachh Survekshan Awards 2024-25’.
On Panaji being awarded the title of Cleanest City between 50,000 to 20,000 population segment that he received at the hands of President Droupadi Murmu, Rane stated: “This recognition is not just an award — it is a validation of the sustained efforts and transformative initiatives undertaken under the Swachh Bharat Mission. From door-to-door waste collection, to achieving Garbage-Free City certification, and ensuring scientific treatment of waste, Panaji has set a benchmark in urban cleanliness. Receiving this prestigious award is a proud moment for all of us — a reflection of our commitment to a cleaner, greener Goa.”
On Sanquelim being conferred with the State-level award for Promising Swachh Sheher at the Swachh Survekshan Awards 2024-25, presented by the Union Minister of Urban Development, Manohar Lal Khattar; Rane reflected saying: “This honour is a reflection of the proactive initiatives taken at the grassroots level — from strengthening door-to-door collection, to promoting source segregation, and ensuring citizen participation in keeping Senquelim clean and green. A big thank you to Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant for his constant guidance and vision in advancing the Swachh Bharat Mission across every corner of Goa.”
