Top seed Ethan (ELO 2500) had a dream tournament making short work of all the opponents. On the way to the title triumph, the talented Goan beat second seed IM Md Imran (2473) of Andhra Pradesh in the ninth round and IM Mayank Chakraboty (2465) of Assam in the 7th round. He also had resounding victories over FM Vivaan Vishal Shah (2327) of Gujarat in the 10th round and FM Jaiveer Mahenddru (2237) of Maharastra in the final round.

Such was the dominance that even in the final round, though Ethan required a draw; he went on to win despite a slightly inferior position in the middle game. The only drawn match was against CM Aadik Theophane Lenin of Kerala in the 4th round.

IM Ethan won a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh and a trophy. The second prize was bagged by IM Mayank Chakraboty(2465) of Assam and third prize by Vignesh Vemula of Telangana.

This year has witnessed IM Ethan earning his second GM Norm and cross the minimum requirement of ELO 2500 for his Grandmaster title.

Another Goan player Sai Prabhakaran R was ranked 112th with 5.5 points.The 39th national junior  girls event was also held at the venue and was won by WFM Shubhi Gupta of Uttar Pradesh. The second place in the girls section was won by Nivedita V. C. of Tamil Nadu and the third place was won by Pratitee Bordoloi of Karnataka.
