PANAJI: Goa’s teenage badminton star Tanisha Crasto has been called for selection trials to select Indian team for the prestigious Thomas & Uber Cup, and the Sudirman Cup, which are to be held in Denmark and Finland later this year.
The selection trials will be conducted by the Badminton Association of India at Pullela Gopichand Academy at Hyderabad from August 28.
Tanisha is the reigning Junior National champion in Mixed-Doubles and is one of India’s brightest young prospects, while being the lone Goan to feature in Sports Ministry’s Target Olympics Podium Scheme. Tanisha will be in the fray in Mixed Doubles as well as in Women’s Doubles.
Tanisha joined Pullela Gopichand Academy, Hyderabad, in May 2019. In January this year, the 17-year-old had achieved her highest ranking of 9 in world juniors doubles circuit.
