ADVOCATES ARE SOCIAL ENGINEERS, WEAVE THE MORAL & SOCIAL FABRIC: SARESH LOTLIKAR

PANAJI: Senior Advocate Saresh Lotlikar was invited by V.M.Salgaocar College of Law (VMSCL) to engage a session on “Art of Advocacy” for the final year students of the Law Programmes. Adv. Lotlikar stated that there is no substitute for hard work when it comes to legal profession. He added that ethical standards and morals should never be compromised by an advocate, states a press release.

“Budding lawyers must uphold the dignity and grace of the profession as since time immemorial legal profession has been viewed and accepted as a noble profession,” Adv. Lotlikar emphasised. He also mentioned that legal profession is a challenging career, which makes it all the more interesting. He further stated that lawyers are social engineers and it is their duty not to eliminate the moral and social fabric.

However, he expressed his sad concern over the fact that the profession is being defamed due to presence of few black sheep. To remember, honesty, integrity and industry are perennially rewarded and that should be always be the focal point for budding lawyers as far as their profession is concerned, he stated.

Adv. Lotlikar is a renowned lawyer with more than 45 years of practice. He was designated as Senior Advocate by the High Court of Bombay in the year 1999. In the past he has also served the state of Goa as Advocate General for couple of months and was a Professor in Law at VMSCL.
