The 133rd Birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was celebrated with great pomp and enthusiasm at the State-Level function held in Panaji today.
People from various parts of the state attended the function held at Ambedkar garden in Panaji, paying rich tributes to the architect of Indian Constitution.
Secretary, Tribal Welfare, S.S. Gill, IAS, in the presence of Director, Social Welfare, Ajit Panchawadkar, Director, Tribal Welfare, Dashrath Redkar, Chairman of SC, ST Commission Deepak Karmalkar, MD of SC and OBC Finance and Development Corporation, Devidas Gaonkar also offered floral tributes and paid homage to Dr. Ambedkar.
The State-level function was organised by Directorate of Social Welfare in collaboration with Goa Scheduled Caste and OBC Finance and Development Corporation. S.S Gill, IAS, expressed that Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar has contributed substantially to the nation-building.
Deepak Karmalkar informed about various activities being conducted by ST, SC Commission for the welfare of the community. He also urged people to follow the principles of Dr.Ambedkar and work hard to achieve desired goals of success in life.
Ajit Panchawadkar welcomed the gathering. Musical group of Kala Academy presented a welcome song. Dr. Dayanand Rao compered the function. Devidas Gaonkar proposed the vote of thanks.
