DEMPO ROUT MBBS CLUB 14-0, HAT-TRICK FOR ANNI IN DREAM SPORTS CHAMPIONSHIP

Young forward Anni’s first half hat-trick helped Dempo SC cruise to a 14-goal victory over MBBS Sports and Cultural Club in the Dream Sports Championship Goa Regional round of national-level under-17 football tournament, at the Rosary college grounds in Navelim. He finished with five goals as eight of his other team-mates also found the net.

Dempo SC skipper Nash Fernandes opened the scoring in the 13th minute, but Anni stole the show with goals in minutes 20, 28 and 40. He added to his tally with goals in the 59th and 58th-minute mark. Nigel Viegas scored two after coming off the bench, while Tanmay Kumar, Krutik Gaikwad, Kayden Mansley Faleiro, Ashon Vaz, Mohit Surlikar And Tejas Arun Kamat bagged a goal each.

In the other game on Sunday, FC Goa’s U17 team were held to a 0-0 draw by Belgaum United Football Academy, setting a must-win clash for FC Goa against SESA Football Academy on April 16.

Yesterday, Sporting Clube de Goa played out a 2-2 draw against Margaret Bosco Bal Sadan (MBBS) at the Navelim Football Ground.

In the second game, Belgaum United Football Academy secured a 2-0 win over SESA Football Academy.

For Sporting Clube de Goa, it was Rujal Sangodkar and Kabeer Mulgun who scored but Damodar and Robert brought the game back.

In Group B, Tikendrajit Salam’s direct free-kick coupled with Joshua Francis Vaz’s strike helped
Belgaum United beat SESA Football Academy 2-0.

The Dream sports championships is a national level under-17 football tournament for boys with
the Final to be held in Mumbai in May.
