CHANGE OF GUARD AT CONFEDERATION OF INDIAN INDUSTRY – GOA COUNCIL

The incoming leadership brings together deep expertise in industrial manufacturing and maritime engineering a combination well-suited to the priorities Goa’s industry faces in the coming year. 

Mahendra Wani, Country Head – Business Segment, Siemens Ltd., has been elected as the Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Goa Council for the year 2026-27 while Prasad Prabhakar Sawant, CEO, Buoyancy Consultants has been elected as the Vice-Chairman.

Siemens Ltd. is a leading powerhouse in electronics and electrical engineering with a business volume aggregating about Rs. 12,000 Cr. Siemens’ facility in Goa stands as one of India’s most advanced, strategically located, and innovation-driven manufacturing hubs. Situated in Verna, this world-class facility symbolizes Siemens’ commitment to technological excellence, sustainability, and the future of industrial growth in India.

Prasad Prabhakar Sawant, CEO of Buoyancy Consultants, one of India’s leading ship and offshore design engineering firms, headquartered in Goa with four international offices, serving clients across 35+ countries. With nearly two decades of global maritime experience across 22+ countries, he also contributes to the ecosystem as Founding Trustee of The Blue Economy Hub (TBEH), Board Member of the Konkan Maritime Cluster and member of the Managing Committee of SITEG. He is widely recognised for his commitment to innovation, sustainable maritime development, and collaborative industry growth.

Their names were announced at the ‘CII Goa Annual Meeting 2026’ organised under the theme ‘Competitive Industry, Confident India: Goa’s Role’ featuring two substantive business sessions that formed the intellectual centrepiece of the programme.
