Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth announced that the Ministry of Defence will organise three days’ exhibition in Goa under the theme ‘Know your Army’ which can inspire Goan youth to serve Indian Army. He was speaking at a programme ‘ Ek Rakhi Sainikansathi’ organised by Chaitanya Pratishthan at Kala Academy, Panaji on Wednesday.
Seth said that as Goan youth lacks interest in joining Defence Forces, the Ministry will make special efforts to hold inspirational exhibition in the State so that youngsters will develop urge to join the Forces. He informed that the exhibition will be organised for three days in the month of December or January.
Initiative of making Rakhis for soldiers and sending to the soldiers on the boundaries of the country under ‘ Ek Rakhi Sainikansathi’ initiative by student community and people from different walks of life is one of the wonderful efforts to generate patriotism and value of oneness among the society. Rakhi signifies culture of unity, harmony and brotherhood among the people. Our country is built on principles of unity, sovereignty and integrity which are unbeatable as always and today’s event underscore its importance.
Expressing the need of nationalism to be propogated among every youth, Governor of Bihar, Rajendra Arlekar said that initiative of ‘Ek Rakhi Sainikansathi’ has been instrumental in inculcating sentiments of patriotism in common people towards the nation and soldiers performing duty on the borders of the country.
‘Ek Rakhi Sainikansathi’ is being organised since ten years by the Chaitanya Pratishthan, Goa; informed Arlekar who is also the president of the organisation.
Goans shares strong ties of culture and patriotism with the nation. The programme of Ek Rakhi Sainikansathi’ depicts devotion and respect towards country. Arlekar wished for unique military training of two years for youths interested in joining Government Services, which will help youngsters to develop self decipline and respect towards country.
Chairman of TJSB Sahakari Bank Limited , Sharad Gangal appreciated the initiative and said that such program will build high respect for defence forces among the student community.
It was informed that 54,372 rakhis were prepared by 185 schools and also various institutions from Goa. These rakhis will be send to Indian Army, stated a press release.
