Entertainment Society of Goa in association with the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Goa Dental College and Hospital will organise the 5th Goa Anti-Tobacco Film Festival on 31st May 2023.
The aim of the this festival is to select Ad Films to spread the message of harmful effects of tobacco use and its ill effects, to decrease the occurrence of Oral Cancer and heart disease and to promote film art through non-profit screening of these films. The ultimate objective being to render Goa smoke free.
This festival will be held in two sections, Goa section and National Section. The theme for the festival is “We need food, not tobacco”.
For the Goan Section, the ‘Ad Films’ should be in Konkani, Marathi, Hindi or English language and should be produced by Goan producers/Production Houses, Goan individuals, students studying in Goa and educational and social institutions only. The Ad film should not be more than 2 minutes and should carry English subtitles.
For the National Section, the Ad Films should be in Hindi or English language only and should be produced by an Indian producer/ Production Houses, individuals/students and educational and social institutions from India only. The Ad film should not be more than 2 minutes and should carry English subtitles.
The eligible persons may register themselves by filling the Registration Form latest by 19th April 2023. The form and Rules and Regulations for this competition are available on www.esg.co.in and www.iffigoa.org termed as “5th Goa Anti-Tobacco Film Festival Registration Form”.
The last date for receipt of film entries along with supporting documents is 12th May 2023.
The prizes for Goan section will be as follows 1st Prize: Rs. 50,000, 2nd Prize: Rs. 30,000, 3rd Prize: Rs. 20,000/-
The prizes for National section will be as follows 1st Prize: Rs. 1,00,000, 2nd Prize: Rs. 50,000, 3rd Prize: Rs. 30,000.
The award winning Ad films will be used for promotions of ad campaigns of Anti Tobacco across cinema theatres/TV channels, schools, colleges and other government department programmes and on the internet, states a press release.
