The Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Goa; in association with National Career Service Centre for Differently-Abled, Mumbai, and Disability Rights Association of Goa (DRAG) have organised an ‘Evaluation and Rehabilitation Guidance Camp for Employment of Persons with Disabilities’.
The camp for PwDs residing in the North Goa district will be held on Thursday, 20 October 2022 at the Sanjay Centre for Special Education, Porvorim. The camp for PwDs residing in the South Goa district will be held on Friday, 21 October at the Gujarati Samaj Educational Trust For The Handicapped, Margao.
The State Commissioner for People with Disabilities, Guruprasad Pawaskar, noted that pre-pandemic job markets already had “significant” barriers for people with disabilities. However, existing barriers have been exacerbated by the pandemic. Thus, the State Commission for PwDs has set up a two-day camp with the goal of empowering persons with disabilities to become self-sufficient.
“During the camp evaluation of persons with disabilities will be done to assess their physical efficiencies, measure their psychological strength , aptitude and areas of interest to unfold their potentials”, Pawaskar added.
Documents (Photocopy) required from PwDs:
- Disability certificate
- Birth certificate/ Leaving certificate
- Adhar card/PAN card
- Educational and technical training certificate
- SC/ST/OBC certificate (If PwDs belongs to SC/SC/OBC community)
- Two passport size photos
- Resume/Biodata
Meanwhile, DRAG will premiere a music video created especially for the association in honour of its 20th anniversary celebrations by eminent artist Tracy de Calangute on Thursday, 20 October 2022 at the Sanjay Centre for Special Education, Porvorim.
