PANAJI: Government College-Quepem (GCQ) geared up for the 2021-22 Academic year with a students’ Physical Fitness Programme of 10 days.

Around fifty participants that included mostly FY students and college staff, were enthusiastic as they trained across various activities. A talk was organised on ‘Exercise and Health’ by Ratil Kavlekar, Fitness expert and ISSA Certified Personal coach/Nutritionist, being the resource person.

Due to the raging pandemic, the fitness programme was not held last year. However, this year GCQ were able to conduct the programme – thanks to the students who showed enthusiasm and reported regularly for the fitness initiative, says a communique by GCQ to www.livenewsgoa.com.

Since last one and a half year, there have not been any sporting events under GU, the GCQ college sports council has planned many intramural competitions for the students in the coming month. In the last academic year too, many sports competitions were conducted in the college, including the Annual College Athletic meet following Covid protocol, added the statement. Many of GCQ students and staff whole-heartedly participated in the same. This was the 30th year of the Physical Fitness Programme, conducted by the GCQ Department of Physical Education.
