The Margao-based former India coach witnessed Goa Beach Soccer ‘grassroots festival’ Miramar-leg recently and was impressed by the overall organisation.
Goa Football Association general secretary Jovito Lopes and Arjuna Awardee Brahmanand Shankhwalkar also feel that the concerted focus on beach soccer will reap rich reward.
GFA recently launched the grassroots festival with Singh Sports Ventures organising ‘Goa Beach Soccer’ at multiple locations in the state. Following the inaugural event at Calangute beach last month, the New Year started with Miramar playing host to the exciting beach football variant on Sunday (January 3, 2021).
