PANAJI: Goa Blind Cricket Team made a clean sweep of the three-match Friendship Series Trophy against hosts Maharashtra in Nagpur by winning all three matches. In the third and final match today, Goa won by eight wickets.
Replying to Maharashtra’s 174/8 in the allotted 20 overs, Goa scored 175/2 with one ball to spare. Ashitosh Mawaskar top-scored with 62 runs and was named Man-of-the Series and Man-of-the Match today in B3 Category. Nilesh Mirgal contributed 48 runs and he was adjudged Man-of-the Match in B2 Category. Goa captain Akshay Borikar was Man-of-the Match in B1 Category. Goa’s Saeesh Pariekar bowled economically conceding only 16 runs in his 4 overs.
Goa team will be back in Nagpur for a camp of 3 days from November 11-14 to prepare for upcoming Nagesh Trophy national tournament, said Yeshwant Nageshkar. Goa will then leave for Delhi from Nagpur, to participate in IndusInd Bank Nagesh Trophy National Championship on November 17.
