A 92nd-minute goal from Joyson Gauncar secured a 2-2 draw for Sporting Clube de Goa against Dempo SC in the GPL Super League match at Duler Stadium on Friday.

Sporting showed significant resolve to recover a point in the closing stages despite playing the final period with ten men. The first half remained scoreless as both sides prioritized defensive shape. Sporting’s primary opportunity came in the 24th minute via a free kick following a foul on the edge of the area, but Doyal Alves’ effort cleared the goalpost.

Dempo SC opened the scoring shortly after the restart. In the 48th minute, Swavel Cristiano Furtado connected with a cross from the right to give Dempo a 1-0 lead.

Sporting responded in the 57th minute when Doyal Alves found space on the right side of the box to level the match.

The scoreline shifted again in the 59th minute when Dempo’s Rahul Rodrigues scored directly from a corner kick to make it 2-1. Sporting’s momentum faced a setback in the 73rd minute when Joel Colaco was sent off following an off-the-ball incident.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, Sporting continued to press for an equalizer. In the second minute of stoppage time, Dhiraj Chauhan delivered a deep ball from the right flank, which Joyson Gauncar finished from close range to secure the 2-2 draw.

Sporting Clube de Goa will next face Calangute Association at the Poriat Ground on April 27.
