PANAJI: The 2022 edition of Pro Panja saw massive interest from arm-wrestlers from across the country with over 1109 arm-wrestlers registering for the event for the upcoming season. Compared to the previous edition, the number of registrations has seen exponential growth this season – nearly three times of the ranking event, states a press release.

Of all the participants who have registered, 897 are men, while 174 are women, and 37 belong to the specially-abled category. Kerala turned out to be the state with the maximum number of participants registering, with a total of 178 arm wrestlers (Women: 33, Men:145) entering their names.

Pro Panja Co-Founder, Parvin Dabas expressed his pleasure at the rise in numbers of arm wrestlers registering for the 2022 edition of Pro Panja and said that he is honoured to see the response and interest from the Indian arm-wrestling community.

“The number of registrations and the response has exceeded our expectations at Pro Panja League. Every arm wrestler in India seems to be vying for a spot in the Pro Panja League, which is fantastic because it will raise the bar for Indian ‘Panja’ and provide players with a fantastic opportunity,” Parvin said in a statement.

“We started with 300 registrations for the ranking tournament and have now tripled that amount in a short span of time, with over 1000 registrations. We are honored that India’s arm wrestlers have put their trust in the Pro Panja League. We’re just thrilled that the league is being recognised not just as Asia’s and India’s best platform, but as the best platform in the world, and we want to make sure that Indian arm wrestlers get the most out of it. Truly honored and grateful seeing the level of response,” he added.

Pro Panja League has garnered massive popularity in India and across the globe over the past two years. Australian arm-wrestling star and podcast host and producer Ryan Bowen praised Pro Panja League’s production values and described it as the ‘best in the world’ in his recent podcast.

“The production level is the best the arm-wrestling has ever had. It’s really impressive. I think big things are going to come out of that,” Bowen said.
