MALVIKA BANSOD, M THARUN, ALAP MISHRA TO FEATURE IN ALL-INDIA PUBLIC SECTOR BADMINTON AT CAMPAL

Some of India’s top badminton players including Malvika Bansod, M Tharun and Alap Mishra will be playing at the All-India Public Sector Badminton Tournament beginning on Wednesday (6th March) at Campal. In all 125 players will be in action in the four-day tournament organised by Airports Authority of India Goa region.

A total of 11 teams will vie for the top honours in the team championship as well as in the individual events. They include – AAI, LIC, ESIC, NIC, CWC, BHEL, NLC, FCI, RBI, MDL and BSNL.

RBI is said to be one of the strongest teams on paper with Malvika spearheading their challenge. AAI are also a formidable unit with M Tharun, Alap and Meiraba Luwang in their ranks.

The details of the All-India Public Sector Badminton were announced at a press briefing on Tuesday evening. Ramesh Sachdeva of All India Public Sector Sports Control Board; GL Verma, GM (HR) of AAI; SVT Dhananjaya Rao, Airport Director, Goa International Airport; Vinayak Kamat, Chief Referee for All-India Public Sector Badminton addressed the press conference where the glittering trophies were also unveiled.
