Its rich legacy is marked by a commitment to excellence, innovation, and societal engagement, ensuring a transformative educational experience for its students and contribute to the advancements in technology, he said.

“Our Bharat is now rapidly preparing to become Atmanirbhar, particularly, in the defence sector. This brings in a lot of new and challenging opportunities to engineering graduates of all branches. Self-reliance in defence sector is strategically all the more needed in the present global scenario. You are the torch-bearers of the institute. I can hope that you will materialise our dream of Viksit Bharat. We must make our states, villages and communities empowered and strong so that our dependency on other countries minimize,” Dr Kamat said.

Signifying the NIT’s commitment to fostering constructive alumni relationships, the institute had invited Mansoor Rahimat Khan, a former student of B.Tech Batch 2011-2015, as the Guest of Honour of the ceremony. He shared his journey of becoming an entrepreneur after graduating from the institute. He emphasized the significance of entrepreneurship and how it revives the economy of a country and makes the nation self-reliant.

“A lot of the things while you’re on campus seem to be competitive. You tend to compare yourself with the person sitting beside you. I want you all to know that none of these matters. You need to focus only and only on one aspect, your individuality. All of you are unique individuals with unique backgrounds with insights like no other in your classroom. Each one of you is built differently to do amazing things in life,” he told the outgoing graduates.
