Government of Goa organised a ‘Rozgar Melava’ where the Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant handed over offer letters to 222 candidates selected for appointment as Government Primary School Teachers. The programme was held at the Institute Menezes Braganza, Panaji.
The Chief Minister said primary teachers have a lasting influence on a child’s personality, discipline, values and approach to learning. He said the role of a primary teacher goes beyond teaching lessons, as teachers help shape the foundation on which children build their future.
“Even today, I remember my primary school teachers. A primary teacher creates an impact that stays with a child for life. The values, discipline and knowledge given at this stage remain with the student for years. I congratulate all the newly appointed teachers and urge them to carry out this responsibility with dedication, integrity and discipline,” stated Dr. Sawant.
The Rozgar Melava also highlighted the government’s focus on transparent recruitment and providing employment opportunities to eligible candidates across different categories. The appointment of primary school teachers will further strengthen teaching and learning in government schools.
The programme was attended by Minister for Fisheries Nilkanth Halarnkar, St. Cruz MLA Rodolfo Fernandes, Secretary (Education) Prasad Lolienkar, IAS, Director of Education Shailesh R. Sinai Zingde, and officials from the Directorate of Education.
