PANAJI: Vikram Verlekar, president of South Goa Table Tennis Council; and Managing Director of Ulhas Jewellers Pvt. Ltd, is set to provide a big boost to Goa para-table tennis setup with his gracious gesture of donating 2 ‘NeoFly’ wheelchairs worth around Rs 96, 000.
Vikram Verlekar, who has been instrumental in bringing Pinnacle Table Tennis Acadamy – one of the most prominent TT training centres in India – to Goa, will hand over the sophisticated wheelchairs to the Goa Para-Table Tennis Committee on Saturday (23rd April) at the premises of Pinnacle Academy-Fatorda, at 4 pm.
Meanwhile, Para-National TT Championship is set to be hosted in Indore from 27th to 30th April 2022. As such, the Goan team’s preparations for the tournament; will be boosted after the equipment upgrade in the offing. Moreover, at the request of the Goa Para-Table Tennis committee; the Pinnacle Academy and its coaches have agreed to help the state Para TT Team -which comprises a record number of 8 players including a woman athlete – to prepare for the Nationals, states a press release.
