PANAJI: Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) has rubbished the reports in a section of media that said St Cruz ground is likely to get China-manufactured artificial turf.
In a press communique, SAG categorically denied the speculation and stated that “turf manufactured only in America, Europe and Australia; is valid for acceptance. At present, 4 tenders are received and stringent scrutiny is going on. The bidders have quoted for turf manufactured in Germany, Canada and the Netherlands, which is FIFA preferred, the highest FIFA brands.”
“In the ultimate analysis, the turf that will be laid at St Cruz ground will be of world standard,” according to SAG executive director V M Prabhudesai.
