PANAJI: ‘Support Group for Covid Warriors in Goa’ – a trust formed by group of friends from Dona Paula – has donated 4 ambulances ready for use, in the battle against Covid-19 in Goa. Two ambulances were handed over at North District Collector’s Office in Panaji and other 2 at South District Collector’s Office in Margao on Tuesday.
Brig. Sck Puri, Anupam Saksena, Raju Rangachar, Kripa Desai, Rajkumari Thadani and Hemant Bhasin, who has conceptualised this noble initiative, are the trustees of Support Group for Covid Warriors in Goa. This very active group has organised themselves into small focused working teams pulling in from their network of experts for each to make things move fast but also with direction and quality, says a press communique. With total transparency in the use of money, volunteers have been working on tasks ranging from a Need Assessment Group and Procurement Team to Implementation & Logistics and Quality check, Social media and PR support.
“We are working to provide Home Emergency kits to treat patients at home, Oxygen Concentrators, BiPAP Machines, Non-Invasive Ventilators for ICU, Non-Invasive Ventilators for Pediatric ICU Semi Fowler Beds for ICU, Semi Fowler Beds for Pediatric ICU, Ambulances and Funeral Vans,” a volunteer told livenewsgoa.com.
The appeals of the ‘Support Group for Covid Warriors in Goa’ trust are aimed at people living outside Goa, who have all got links with the State. Their line – “You have always come to Goa for that much
needed holiday – Now Goa Needs You.”
“Your contribution will keep the work going. Please help us help Goa,” is the plea.
