TEJAS SHEVDE STARS FOR DHEMPE COLLEGE IN INTER-COLLEGE TENNIS 2022-23 TITLE TRIUMPH

PANAJI: Dhempe College of Arts & Science, Miramar, won the Inter-Collegiate Lawn Tennis Championship for men. The tournament was organised by Goa University at B.P.S Sports Club, Margao, on 6th and 7th October, 2022.

Dhempe College defeated Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao, 2-1 in the final.

In the first singles, Cavel Dias (Shree Damodar College) defeated Anuj Vernekar of Dhempe College 7-1. Tejas Shevde of Dhempe College then beat Dharmesh Gupta of Shree Damodar College 7-0 to restore parity. In the decider doubles event, Tejas Shevde and Anand Adhikari of Dhempe College blanked out Dharmesh Gupta and Jabiulla Bankapur (Shree Damodar College) 7-0 to help their team lift the Goa University Tennis Championship 2022-23 Trophy.

Earlier in the semi-finals, Shree Damodar College defeated Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, Assagao, 2-0. Dhempe College defeated Don Bosco College, Panaji, 2-1. A total of 15 teams participated in the championship.

Shree Damodar College, Margao team: Harsh Singh, Jabiulla Bankapur, Dharmesh Gupta, Cavel Dias and Dishant Naik; Ajinkya Kudtarkar, College Director of Physical Education and Sports, Saurab Raikar, Instructor in Physical Education.
