TOKYO 2020: INDIA’S DEEPIKA KUMARI FINISHES 9TH IN ARCHERY RANKING ROUND

PANAJI: India’s Deepika Kumari finished ninth in women’s recurve archery ranking round, as Team India began their Tokyo2020 Olympic Games journey. She had a score of 663 points after 12 sets to show for her efforts.

South Korean archers dominated the action with An San creating a new Olympic record with a score of 680. The Koreans occupied all the top 3 spots.

An San’s 72-arrow score of 680 points, comprised 36 ten-pointers and 16 bulls-eyes. She beat the previous record of 673 set by Lina Herasymenko (UKR) in Atlanta 1996.

Based on the ranking round displays, the individual matches will be held on July 27.
